CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna, Philippines – A newly elected Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) chairman in Bauan, Batangas was stabbed dead during a verbal tussle with a resident early yesterday morning, police said.
Chief Inspector Luisito Sanchez, Bauan police chief, said the victim, Richard Magboo, 17, SK chairman of Barangay Gulibay, Bauan town, was on his way home when he encountered the suspect, Michael Angelo Sideco, 20, who was sleeping in a parked passenger jeepney.
Magboo reportedly threw a cigarette butt that hit Sideco, triggering a verbal tussle that led to a fistfight and the SK chairman’s fatal stabbing. Sideco escaped after the incident.
