CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna, Philippines – A 23-year-old niece of a former police general was allegedly gunned down by a police officer during a verbal tussle last Sunday night in Calamba City.
The victim, Jennifer Manaig, died from a bullet wound in the ear allegedly inflicted by SPO4 Julian Piamonte, an investigator of the Calamba City police, said Manaig’s mother Anatancia.
Piamonte is now in the custody of his superior, Calamba police chief Superintendent Nestor de la Cueva.
Manaig’s mother said Piamonte confronted her daughter when her motorcycle suffered engine trouble in front of his house.
The verbal tussle led to Piamonte, who had just come from a drinking spree, to allegedly shoot Manaig with a caliber .45 pistol.
