BALANGA CITY, Bataan, Philippines – Police have filed charges of kidnapping with serious illegal detention against a family driver who allegedly abducted a mentally challenged 31-year-old Filipino-American woman in a subdivision in Parañaque City six months ago.
Senior Superintendent Arnold Gunnacao, Bataan police director, said the suspect, Enrico Nuyda, 42, was arrested in Sitio Marsteel, Barangay Alangan in Limay town the other day.
The victim, Kristina Soril, 31, was safely rescued. Nuyda took her last April 10 from her residence in BF Homes, Parañaque City and brought her to his common-law wife’s house in a coastal village near the Bataan Petron Refinery in Limay town.
Nuyda allegedly withdrew some P100,000 from the ATM card which Soril was carrying when she was snatched. She was reportedly receiving a monthly social security stipend of $2,000.
Nuyda had worked as driver for Soril’s family for more than two years. – Raffy Viray, Ric Sapnu
