19 Dagupan barangays to hold polls today

DAGUPAN CITY, Philippines – The barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) elections in 19 of the 31 barangays in this city will push through today with the arrival of the ballots yesterday.

Lawyer Remarque Ravanzo, city election officer, said the 40,000 ballots and other election paraphernalia will be distributed in time for the opening of polling precincts at 7 a.m. today.

The 19 barangays are Bacayao Norte, Bacayao Sur, Calmay, Tebeng, Barangay II, Lomboy, Mangin, Salapingao, Carael, Lasip Chico, Mayombo, Poblacion Oeste, Bolosan, Lasip Grande, Lucao, Pogo Grande, Salisay, Tapuac, and Mamalingling.

Ravanzo said the elections last Monday in the city’s 12 other barangays went smoothly.

Meanwhile, elections in 33 of the 86 barangays in San Carlos City were held only yesterday also due to the late arrival of election materials.
