MANILA, Philippines - Six persons, including a one-year-old child, were killed while two others were wounded when their house was peppered with bullets in Patikul, Sulu last Tuesday night in what authorities suspect could have stemmed from rido or clan war.
Reports reaching Camp Crame identified the fatalities as Karah Aruh, 45; Ganday Aruh, 38; Aldimar Aruh, 20; Dirana Aruh, 22; Dalmina Aruh, 12; and one-year-old Alwina Aruh.
Police said the two wounded, Nidzfar Ikson, 16, and Arsita Aruh, 15, were brought to the Sulu provincial hospital for treatment.
Senior Superintendent Joseph Ramac, Sulu police director, said probers were trying to find witnesses who could identify those who fired at the victims’ house in Barangay Panglahayan, Patikul town.
Ramac said investigators suspect that the attack was triggered by clan war as Aldimar Aruh was accused of raping the wife of one of the attackers, a certain Hamet. – With Jaime Laude
