Female cop dies in Cagayan training
BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya, Philippines – A rookie female law enforcer died due to exhaustion while undergoing a Scout Rangers’ training course at the regional police camp office in Tuguegarao City, Cagayan last week.
In a report, Chief Superintendent Benedict Michael Fokno, Cagayan Valley police director, said PO1 Marilou Limos collapsed while participating in an early morning physical fitness exercise.
The exercise, dubbed the Team Run, was part of the three-month Modified PNP Scout Ranger Course, which Limos, along with 100 fellow police officers, was undergoing.
Limos collapsed and went into coma. She died nine hours after she lost consciousness while doctors were trying to revive her at the Cagayan Valley Medical Center.
Authorities dismissed any foul play in Limos’ death. Police, however, have yet to release the medical results on the official cause of her death.
