Masbate town executive shot dead
LEGAZPI CITY, Philippines – Two men shot dead the municipal administrator of Baleno town in Masbate while he was on his way to work on board a motorcycle last Tuesday afternoon, police said.
Police said the two gunmen, who were on board a black motorcycle, blocked the path of municipal administrator Rogelio Mingoy and then shot him twice, killing him on the spot.
Upon hearing the gunshots, Baleno policemen rushed to the scene but the gunmen had already fled toward Masbate City, leaving only a black helmet.
Police were still clueless on Mingoy’s killing.
Meanwhile, a policeman of Uson, Masbate is now in hot water for allegedly shooting a municipal employee over a misunderstanding last Tuesday afternoon.
Reports said PO3 Leopoldo Irenea and municipal employee Ronnel Guafilo figured in a verbal tussle, at the height of which the policeman pulled out his caliber .45 pistol and shot the latter four times.
Irenea gave himself up after the incident and turned over his pistol and two magazines with 16 and eight bullets each to his superiors.
