SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga, Philippines – Gov. Lilia “Baby” Pineda said yesterday that she has postponed the previous proposal of the local government unit for the establishment of a provincial sanitary landfill at Barangay Nabuclod, Floridablanca town, after seeing that the said village could be an eco-tourism potential.
Pineda told reporters here, that she believes the conversion of the place into a tourist destination will benefit more the members of the indigenous cultural communities as this would generate income and extra employment for them.
She said the mountainous area of Nabuclod has the potential to become an eco-tourism spot, considering its beautiful scenery and its good climate condition.
For his part, Mayor Eddie Guerrero said that Ramon Ang of the San Miguel Corp. had already expressed his intention to invest here, looking for some 1,000 hectares for eco-tourism development.
