3 dead, 8 injured as van falls into ravine

CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga, Philippines – Three persons died while eight others, including a Japanese national and six children, were injured when the Toyota Lite Ace van they were riding fell into a ravine in Barangay San Mateo, Norzagaray, Bulacan yesterday.

The fatalities were identified as Isagani Ocampo Sr., Carmelita Busa and Priscilla Restituto.

Injured were Japanese national Tomiyaso Koichi, Narcisa Ocampo, and minors Reyna Mae Calderon, 4; Marites Busan, 11; Rica Calderon, 2; Ryan Calderon, 5; Reymar Calderon, 7; and Reycel Calderon, 10.   

Reports said the victims were on their way to Bitbit River for a swimming excursion when they met the tragedy. – Ric Sapnu, Dino Balabo
