4 Cavite inmates bolt jail

-

CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna , Philippines  – Four inmates facing illegal drug and robbery charges bolted a police community precinct in Gen. Trias, Cavite before dawn last Monday, police said.

Superintendent Gregorio Evangelista, Gen. Trias police chief, identified the escapees as Randy Mercadero and Christina Capulong, both charged with violation of the Dangerous Drugs Act, and Michael Valdez and Ryan Semillano, both robbery suspects.

Evangelista said the four inmates managed to destroy the lock of their cell using a broomstick and escaped through a jalousie window.

Two other detainees in the escapees’ detention cell were asleep during the jailbreak.

Evangelista said they are investigating the three policemen who were on duty during the jailbreak.

Police have launched a manhunt for the four jailbreakers.
