P2.5-million marijuana bricks seized

BAGUIO CITY, Philippines – Authorities seized here 100 kilos of marijuana bricks reaching a total of P2.5 million on Monday stalling a supposed huge transaction of the illegal plant to buyers in Manila. 

Twenty-year-old James Bagtang, a farmer, is now facing raps after policemen and operatives from the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Cordillera busted him while trying to sell the contraband.

Superintendent Leon Talleo, Cordillera police spokesman said the supposed transaction took place in Sitio Daclan, Barangay Bangho, Tublay town in Benguet Monday afternoon.

It turned out to be a buy-bust operation as Bagtang was red-handedly caught selling the marijuana bricks to authorities. 

The seized marijuana are now under the custody of the crime laboratory service.
