Pharex partners with GMA Kapuso
MANILA, Philippines - In a renewed partnership geared toward providing quality health and medical care to more Filipinos across the country, Pharex HealthCorp, one of the country’s pioneers in generic medicine, and GMA Kapuso Foundation recently took the “Kalusugan Karavan” medical mission to Cebu, where almost 2,000 indigents were given free health care assistance and medicine.
The medical mission, held in Barangay San Nicolas’ sports complex in downtown Cebu, is part of Pharex’s intensified programs this year. Pharex recently launched its lineup of activities for 2010 in Cebu, which was aimed at providing Filipinos, especially those in the provinces, greater access to high-quality, affordable medicine.
Leading the Kalusugan Karavan medical mission were Pharex HealthCorp president Tomas Marcelo Agana III and top broadcaster and GMA Kapuso Foundation executive vice president Mel Tiangco.
Agana also expressed optimism that they will be able to reach out to more Filipinos through their tie-up with the foundation’s Kalusugan Karavan.
“Pharex sees every medical mission as an opportunity to serve more Filipinos and with our renewed partnership with (the foundation), we were able to provide quality health care and free medicine to Cebuanos,” he said.
During the medical mission, over 30 doctors with different specializations, nurses and health care practitioners, as well as volunteers from local government units, medical societies, and local health offices offered their services to provide Cebuanos with free medical consultation and medicine.
Pharex distributed boxes of medicine ranging from anti-hypertensive, anti-infective, expectorant, anti-ulcerant and oral anti-diabetic to cold preparations, vitamins and minerals.
