VIGAN CITY, Philippines – The Singsons headed by comebacking Ilocos Sur Gov. Luis “Chavit” Singson continue to wield political supremacy in the province with their slate registering a sweeping victory in the polls.
The former deputy national security adviser was proclaimed governor yesterday along with his ticket mates Vice Gov. Deogracias Victor Savellano and 10 provincial board members led by Singson’s younger brother Jerry.
Also proclaimed were re-elected Rep. Ronald Singson (first district) and incoming Rep. Owen Singson (second district), son of outgoing Deputy Speaker Eric Singson.
Also proclaimed winners were re-elected Vigan City Mayor Eva Singson-Medina, incoming Vigan vice mayor Ryan Singson, and 10 city councilors led by outgoing Vice Mayor Francisco Ranches. Germy Singson Goulart, Chavit’s younger sister, also made it as Caoayan mayor.
