MANILA, Philippines - Romblon Gov. Natalio Beltran III said they have not defected to the camp of Nacionalista Party standard-bearer Sen. Manny Villar, affirming their unequivocal support for administration candidate Gilbert “Gibo” Teodoro.
“We are not defecting to another political camp. We are united for Gibo and vice presidential candidate Edu Manzano,” Beltran said, adding that published reports were unfounded and mere black propaganda.
Beltran, Lakas-Kampi provincial chairman, said mayors of Romblon’s 17 municipalities will support Teodoro for president all the way despite the lack of campaign funds coming from the ruling party.
However, Beltran reiterated their appeal to the national executive committee to take bold action on their complaints and to put a stop to the misuse of millions of government funds being distributed to the 17 towns of the province.
