Bian gets support of women's group
DAVAO CITY , Philippines – Second district congressional candidate Joji Ilagan-Bian has gained the support of the city’s 50,000-strong women’s group Kababaihan Para sa Kalamboan ug Kabagohan (KKK).
Bian and the KKK officers signed a mutual agreement last March 26 to firm up their partnership in bringing about change, not only in the political arena, but also in their social and economic conditions.
The agreement will enable the KKK members to avail themselves of the B.I.A.N. program, which consists of business opportunities from the acquisition of entrepreneurial skills, income and livelihood through linkages to market and financing sources, access to education and training, and new practices in capacity building for career growth through workshops and seminars.
A business and civic leader and educator, Bian owns and operates the JIB Career Center Foundation, which runs the JIB College of Business and Tourism, JIB e-Academy call center school, International Culinary and Hospitality Entrepreneurship Foundation (I-CHEF), JIB Welding Academy, and international pre-school Tumble Tots.
Since 1998, the JIB Career Center Foundation has been providing management training and business opportunities to various women groups through its corporate social responsibility programs.
The foundation’s mission is to provide scholarships to deserving out-of-school youths and individuals with unmet financial needs but are willing to pursue further education and skills training to increase their chances of success in life.
“Thus, Team Nograles and I are making our knowledge, expertise and resources available to our women sector (KKK) so as to help them attain their aspirations for their families, peers, communities and country,” Bian said.
With Bian in the Team Nograles are Speaker Prospero Nograles and Ben de Guzman, who are running for mayor and vice mayor, respectively.
