MNLF supports Pacquiao
MAITUM, Sarangani , Philippines – The Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF), through the Gadungan State Revolutionary Committee (GSRC) under the leadership of Nur Misuari, yesterday declared full support for the candidacy of world boxing champ Manny Pacquiao for congressman of this province.
The MNLF also threw their support behind gubernatorial candidate Johnny Domino and his running mate, Fred Basino, who both belong to Pacquiao’s Peoples’ Champ Movement.
Bai Lamia Mala, head of Barangay Pinol, Maitum town and wife of the late GSRC chairman Ayub Mindog, Al Haj, relayed the MNLF’s commitment of support to Pacquiao.
Maitum town is one of the biggest strongholds of the MNLF in Mindanao where a camp was named after Misuari.
Meanwhile, Domino confirmed to The STAR that the leadership of the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) in Sarangani has also declared support for Pacquiao’s candidacy.
Pacquiao said the Wata tribal clan in Glan town has also announced their support for him.
Domino said the Wata clan was known to be loyal to the family of Roy Chiongbian, Pacquiao’s rival.
