GMA, other Pampanga bets warned on posters
SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga, Philippines – The provincial supervisor of the Commission on Elections (Comelec) appealed to President Arroyo and other local bets to initiate the removal of their campaign posters outside authorized areas.
Comelec provincial chief Temmie Lambino confirmed reports that posters of Mrs. Arroyo, who is running for Congress in the second district of Pampanga, are among those seen outside designated “common poster areas.”
In Lubao town, Mrs. Arroyo’s posters are often displayed alongside those of Lakas-Kampi-CMD gubernatorial candidate Lilia Pineda, who is challenging re-electionist Gov. Eddie Panlilio of the Liberal Party.
“No one, not even the President, is exempted from the rules and regulations,” Lambino said.
Under Comelec Resolution No. 8758, it is presumed that candidates caused the posting of campaign materials outside common poster areas if they do not remove them within three days from notice issued by the local election officer.
