DAVAO CITY , Philippines – Speaker Prospero Nograles and Mayor Rodrigo Duterte led more than 64 local bets in last Thursday’s signing of a peace covenant initiated by the Commission on Elections, the police and military.
The two officials, however, signed the pact in separate occasions.
Nograles, who is seeking the mayorship, and son Karlo, who is running for first district representative, were among the first to sign the pact at the St. Joseph Auditorium Thursday morning.
For their part, Duterte, who is running for vice mayor, and his daughter Sara, the incumbent vice mayor who is now seeking the mayoral seat, signed the peace pact at the Grand Men Seng Hotel that afternoon.
