Agusan power cooperative employees caught stealing electric devices

BUTUAN CITY, Philippines – Two Agusan del Norte Electric Cooperative personnel were caught in the act of stealing expensive electrical equipment and devices estimated to be worth P300,000. Said items were discovered inside their bags and allegedly about to be taken home on Black Saturday afternoon, police said.

Caraga police identified the suspects in their official report as, Rolito Ganaganag, 45, married; and Enrique Bendijo, 40; both residents of Purok 5, Bancasi, Butuan City. They are Agusan del Norte Electric Cooperative (ANECO) employees.

Official report from Caraga Police Regional Information office said that at about 12:45 p.m. Wednesday, duty personnel Jhonie Balaba, allegedly discovered in the bags of the suspects one unit dismantled air break switch 69 KV worth P250,000; four pieces hacksaw blade and one piece cross cut saw.

Balaba immediately called the police but Bendijo managed to jump out from the concrete fence and fled before the arrival of the responding policemen from Butuan City Police Station 4.

Charges for qualified theft were filed against the two ANECO personnel.

Suspect Ganaganag is now detained at BCPS 4 detention cell for proper disposition while Bendijo is still at large, police said.
