3 persons share P83-million lotto jackpot prize

MANILA, Philippines - The Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) reported yesterday that an engineer, a government employee, and a housewife got over P27 million each after they shared the more than P83 million jackpot of the Superlotto on-line lottery draw on March 9.

PCSO spokesman Larry Cedro said the three lucky bettors picked the winning combination 5-7-11-18-26-28.

He said the engineer and the government employee have been placing bets since the lotto started in 1995.

The two men, along with a housewife, became the three new multi-millionaires and separately collected their prizes last week.

Cedro said one of the winners is a 64-year-old male engineer from Makati City who is married and has two children.

“He chose those digits based on past winning numbers,” Cedro said, referring to the engineer, who intends to buy a house and lot and invest portions of his prize.

Another winner is a 56-year-old male government employee from General Trias, Cavite, who is also married and has kids.

He chose the winning combination based on the age and birth dates of his children.

The Cavite winner also intends to buy a house and lot, with his winnings and will pay for the education of his children and he will also donate funds to his local parish. He wants to start his own business.

The 34-year-old housewife from Tacloban City, who has three children, is the third winner.
