DAVAO CITY, Philippines – Liberal Party (LP) standard-bearer Sen. Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III flew yesterday to the cities of Cotabato and Zamboanga, a day after begging off from attending the “Sukatan 2010” presidential forum hosted by Pastor Apollo Quiboloy here due to “barosinusitis.”
In a letter to Quiboloy of The Kingdom of Jesus Christ The Name Above Every Name congregation, Aquino said he was suffering from barosinusitis and that his doctors prevented him from flying for two days.
Aquino flew yesterday morning to Cotabato City on board a King Air RPC 226 along with six LP senatorial candidates, including Riza Hontiveros and JV Bautista.
Three hours later, he proceeded to Zamboanga City where he addressed an afternoon rally at the Joaquin Enriquez Grandstand. He is also set to fly to Pagadian City tomorrow for another sortie.
Quiboloy did not hide his disappointment over the absence of Aquino – and Sen. Manny Villar of the Nacionalista Party – in the forum since it was Aquino who caused the event to be moved from Feb. 11 to March 9.
In his letter to Quiboloy, Aquino though expressed his apology for not making it to the forum as his doctors advised him to provisionally avoid any travel by aircraft for at least two consecutive days because “any sudden atmospheric or barometric pressure will only aggravate” his barosinusitis.
“As previously arranged, I have already marked and prioritized this event in my schedule, and I have been eagerly looking forward to meeting you personally for the said activity,” Aquino stated, adding that he would want to meet Quiboloy later this week when he visits Davao City.
