Ibrado leads send-off of Liberia, Haiti teams

- Alexis Romero -

MANILA, Philippines - Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) chief Gen. Victor Ibrado leads security forces today in sending off the Filipino peacekeeping teams to Liberia and Haiti.

AFP spokesman Lt. Col. Romeo Brawner Jr. said Ibrado will deliver the keynote address during the joint send-off ceremony for the 13th Philippine Contingent to Liberia and the 11th Philippine Contingent to Haiti at the Clark Freeport in Pampanga.

Brawner said the AFP “has strengthened anew its commitment to the cause of peace and international solidarity” in Liberia and Haiti by sending the two contingents.

The 155-member peace contingent bound for Haiti is led by Lt. Col. Clifford Cyril Riveral and will replace those who experienced the earthquake last month.

The 115-man team bound for Liberia is headed by Lt. Col. Royland Orquia.
