Another tremor jolts Albay

MANILA, Philippines - Another tectonic earthquake jolted Albay late Thursday night but did not cause any damage or injuries, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said yesterday.

Phivolcs director Renato Solidum said the magnitude 4.8 tremor struck at around 11:02 p.m. with its epicenter traced at 158 kilometers northeast of Catarman, Northern Samar.

It was felt at Intensity 2 in Legaspi City.

Earlier that day, a magnitude 5.3 quake rocked Albay and Catanduanes but there were no reports of damage or injuries, too. – Helen Flores
