Dolphy's Grandson re-arrested for drug case
CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna, Philippines – A grandson of “Comedy King” Dolphy (Rodolfo Quizon Jr. in real life) was arrested again last Friday afternoon after allegedly failing to attend court hearings on the illegal drug case filed against him a few years ago in Sta. Cruz, Laguna.
Superintendent Marvin Saro, Sta. Cruz police chief, said Rocky “Rocco” Quizon III, 22, was nabbed by virtue of a warrant of arrest issued by Judge Jaime Blancaflor of Sta. Cruz Regional Trial Court Branch 27.
Saro said Quizon III was arrested at the Argem Cockpit Arena in Barangay Bubukal, Sta. Cruz.
“We don’t have his case folder, but according to him (Quizon III) the arrest warrant could be in connection with the drug case filed against him five years ago,” Saro said
Saro said the court apparently issued another arrest warrant against Quizon III for failing to attend the scheduled hearings or his bail bond could have expired.
Quizon III is now detained at the Sta. Cruz police station. A P200,000 bail was recommended for his temporary liberty.
He is also facing a case of attempted murder for allegedly shooting a childhood friend, construction worker Jomar Paghangaan, 28, in Sta. Cruz in April last year.
