Rebels swoop down on Quezon cop station

QUEZON, Philippines – More than 50 communist guerrillas raided the police station of San Narciso town and carted away eight high-powered firearms yesterday afternoon, the military said.
Lt. Gen. Roland Detabali, chief of the Southern Luzon Command (Solcom), said the rebels ransacked the armory of the municipal town while policemen were herded into one room.
Joint elements of Solcom and the provincial police are now pursuing the rebel attackers. – Michelle Zoleta
