Mall executive shot dead in Cavite

Camp Vicente Lim, Laguna, Philippines – A 50-year-old operations manager of a shopping mall was shot dead while waiting for a ride in Bacoor, Cavite yesterday morning, police said.

Senior Superintendent Alfred Corpuz, Cavite police director, said the victim, Glenn Clemente, was waiting for a ride in front of the ML building on Molino Road when a man approached him from behind and shot him at around 7:45 a.m., killing him on the spot with five bullet wounds.

Investigation showed that the killing could be related to politics, as Clemente was a known financier of his brother who is planning to run for re-election as vice mayor in a Bicol town.  – Ed Amoroso and Arnell Ozaeta
