ZAMBOANGA CITY, Philippines – At least two persons were killed while 15 others were wounded in a grenade blast in a perya (village carnival) in Luuk, Sulu Wednesdy night, police said.
Investigation showed that a grenade was lobbed in the perya in Poblacion Camp Andres where dozens of residents were gathered.
Police were still establishing the motive behind the attack, but some local officials suspect that the perya might have offended Muslim residents who are observing the holy month of Ramadan. – Roel Pareño
