BCDA addresses erosion on Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway
MANILA, Philippines - The Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) is instituting immediate corrective measures to ensure the safety of motorists following an erosion that occurred amid heavy rains at the Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway (SCTEx) in Barangay Pabanlag, Floridablanca, Pampanga last Tuesday morning.
Clearing operations are ongoing. The BCDA and its interim service provider, Tollways Management Corp., have also fielded personnel to make sure that motorists are being warned about the situation.
The BCDA is also hiring the services of an independent geotechnical engineer to review the situation and provide a long-term holistic solution, and is looking at the warranties of the contractors and consultants based on their contracts.
