Cagayan graduate tops agricultural engineer board examination

MANILA, Philippines - A graduate of the Cagayan State University in Tuguegarao led other 122 examinees who passed the agricultural engineer licensure examination, the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) said yesterday.

With a grade of 80.75 percent, Sherwin Maruquin topped the licensure examination held a few weeks ago, with Rosanne Ancog of the University of the Philippines ranking second by garnering 80.35 percent.

Aside from Ancog, six other graduates of UP, two students of the Leyte State University and one from the University of Southern Philippines made it to the top 10.

According to the PRC, a total of 409 examinees took the board exam in the cities of Manila, Baguio and Davao.

The PRC said the registration for the issuance of Professional Identification Card (ID) and Certificate of Registration will start tomorrow and end Sept. 30.

Successful examinees are required to personally register and sign in the Roster of Registered Professionals.

The oath-taking of the new agricultural engineers as well as previous exam passers who have not yet taken theirs will be held on Oct. 8 at the Manila Hotel.

The newly licensed agricultural engineers may register for membership with the Philippine Society of Agricultural Engineers after registration with the PRC.
