Bicol has new PNP regional director

LEGAZPI CITY , Philippines   – Police Chief Superintendent Ruben Padua was installed yesterday morning as the new acting regional director of the Philippine National Police in Bicol replacing Chief Superintendent Cecilio Calleja during a simple turnover ceremony at the conference room at Camp Ola yesterday morning.

Padua, who was head of the PNP Directorate for Plans at Camp Crame, replaced Chief Superintendent Cecilio Calleja, deputy police regional director, who assumed the highest police post in the region Saturday morning after Bicol PNP regional director Peterno Bangui retired from the service.

During the austere turnover ceremony without the usual pass-in-review, Padua vowed to continue the policies of PNP chief Director General Jesus Verzosa as well as the police transformation process.         – Celso Amo
