Oil mill loses P.6-million payroll to robbers

-

MANILA, Philippines - Three motorcycle-riding men grabbed at gunpoint the P600,000 payroll of an oil mill in Quezon Tuesday, police said.

Chief Superintendent Perfecto Palad, Calabarzon police director, dispatched three tracker teams to go after the robbers.

Palad said Margarita Que, 65, owner of the Diamond coconut mill in Barangay Bukal Sur, Candelaria town, directed her secretary, accompanied by the mill’s caretaker, to withdraw the money from the Banco de Oro branch in the town proper.

But upon reaching the mill’s gate, two of the robbers accosted Mercado and grabbed the bag containing the money, even firing a number of shots. – Non Alquitran, Ed Amoroso and Cecille Suerte Felipe
