Political adviser gunned down

Buenavista, Quezon , Philippines   – A political adviser and former municipal secretary was killed in an ambush while one of his relatives was wounded and rushed to the nearest hospital after they were fired upon by two armed men in Buenavista town here, in front of the Iglesia ni Cristo church, on Sunday afternoon.

In a phone interview with Mayor Remedios Uri, she said that at around 1 p.m. while the victim – Timoteo Dusto, 40, married, known as a political adviser and his two relatives, Quirino Llorin and Aldrin Zarsuelo were going to the vicinity of Poblacion when they were trapped in front of the Iglesia ni Cristo church and gunned down by two armed men using M16 rifles.

They were on board a single motorcycle. Dusto died while Llorin was wounded and rushed to the Buenavista Hospital.      – Michelle Zoleta
