11 Chinese nationals arrested in quarry site freed

MALOLOS CITY , Philippines   – Police have released 11 Chinese nationals arrested at a tea rose marble quarry site in Donya Remedios Trinidad, Bulacan after finding them to have work permits.

However, officials of Rosemoor Mining and Development Corp. vowed to pursue the deportation of the 11 Chinese and a human trafficking case against a certain Jack Chua, president of the Beijing Victory Investment Corp. (BVIC).

When Rosemoor restarted its operations last year, it invited new investors such as BVIC, which sells tea rose marble in China. The two firms, however, had a falling out early this year.

Superintendent Baltazar Mamaril, spokesman of the Central Luzon police, said the 11 Chinese nationals were temporarily released Monday afternoon after a BVIC lawyer, Purisima Martinez, presented authenticated copies of their documents, which immigration officials at the Clark Freeport examined.

He said the 11 Chinese nationals are now under the custody of Martinez and the BVIC.
