Vizcaya cop hacked dead
BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya , Philippines – It was a tragic end never expected to one of the town’s most colorful cops.
Inspector Anselmo Dulin, of this capital town’s police office, was brutally killed on Wednesday following an altercation with two suspects over a traffic accident while on his way to serve an arrest warrant in neighboring Bagabag town.
Police said their 50-year-old colleague was on his way to Bagabag town to serve an arrest warrant when his Nissan Stanza car was bumped from behind by a boar-for-hire-type tricycle driven by one Julius Retonda, of Barangay Bascaran, Solano, in the vicinity of said village around 4:40 p.m. Wednesday.
An altercation between the two ensued, as a result of which Retonda left, returning a few minutes later on foot accompanied by his brother Ronald aboard a Honda motorcycle who then ran over Dulin.
At that juncture, Julius got a bolo from his tricycle and allegedly started hacking Dulin in different parts of the body, including his head “several times” while Roland reportedly stabbed him with a sharp object. – Charlie Lagasca
