Korean couple hurt in robbery

CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna , Philippines   – A Korean and his wife were seriously wounded when two unidentified robbers stabbed them in a brief scuffle inside their house in Barangay Manggahan, General Trias, Cavite, Sunday morning, police said.

Reports reaching Chief Superintendent Perfecto Palad, Calabarzon police director, said the couple – Mon Sun Lee, 52, his wife Dong Yea Jung, 52, both traders, sustained multiple stab wounds on the different parts of the body and now being treated at De La Salle University Medical Center in Dasmariñas, Cavite.

Palad said two unidentified men armed with knives barged in the couple’s house at around 3:45 a.m., at Metro South Ave. Metro South Subdivision on Sunday.

The victims were awakened, prompting Sun Lee to confront one of them, triggering a fight.

Investigators said robbery was the motive.  – Ed Amoroso
