3 dead, 7 hurt in Agusan road accidents

BUTUAN CITY , Philippines  – Three persons were killed and seven others seriously wounded when two single motorcycles collided head on and a passenger bus of Bachelor Bus Co. which also bumped a cargo truck parked along the national highway here.

The Caraga Police Regional Information Office here said three motorcycles (NR 9970 and LO 9539) driven by Fernan Adofo Galito, 24, Rodel Galito y Adolfo, 24, single, both residents of Barangay Alubihid, Buenavista, Agusan del Norte while traveling toward Butuan City accidentally collided head on with a motorized tricycle driven by Rofel Panta y Malooy, 28, single, also resident of said place while driving in the opposite direction.

The incident resulted to the deaths of Galito and his backrider Arnie Bernadas while Fernan Galito and Rofel Panta sustained serious injuries in the different parts of their bodies. The injured victims were brought to the hospital for medical treatment. The incident took place at Kilometer 12, National Highway, Buenavista, Agusan del Norte almost midnight Saturday. Buenavista Police said appropriate charges have been filed against the drivers.   – Ben Serrano
