Cavite ranks high in HDI
MANILA, Philippines - Cavite again proved its continuous leap to progress after being chosen as one of the provinces with high human development based on the 2008/2009 Philippine Human Development Report.
Gov. Ayong Maliksi received the Gawad sa Makataong Pag-unlad para sa Lalawigang May Mataas na Kaunlarang Pantao in a recent program at Crowne Plaza Galleria in Pasig City.
In the report published by the Human Development Network, Cavite ranks third among the provinces based on the 2006 Human Development Index (HDI), which considers long and healthy life, knowledge, and decent standard of living.
Under Maliksi’s leadership, the provincial government has carried out comprehensive development programs, especially in the areas of education, health care, livelihood, and cooperatives, to uplift the living standards of Caviteños.
