2 dead, 4 hurt in Batangas shootings

Batangas, Philippines – Two men were killed while four others, including a policeman, were wounded in four separate shooting incidents in this province over the weekend, authorities said.

Senior Superintendent Jesus Gatchalian, provincial police director, identified the fatalities as businessman Ernesto Barrion, 47, who was waylaid in Tanauan City, along with his wife who was wounded, and Marcelo Velasquez, 32, who was allegedly shot by his brother-in-law.

In another incident, PO3 Ferdinand Hernandez was wounded in an ambush in Batangas City.

Two men were also hurt when their drinking buddies shot them in Lemery town. – Arnell Ozaeta
