Kiko's chopper forced to land in Camarines

-

MANILA, Philippines - Sen. Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan and his two other companions, including a pilot, were forced to land the helicopter they were riding in Camarines Norte due to bad weather yesterday.

The helicopter that was en route to Naga had to divert routes before landing in an open field due poor visibility and heavy rains at 1:30 p.m.

Pangilinan said the chopper had an emergency landing at an open field in Sipocot town, to the surprise of town people especially school children.

Pangilinan, who was in the region promoting the Register and Vote campaign, was headed to Naga City. The senator and his party were forced to head back to Daet because of heavy rains. His staff members at the Senate said Pangilinan and his companions were safe after they went back to Daet. The senator has been going around the country, promoting his advocacy to register and vote through a concert dubbed as “Rock and Vote.” – Christina Mendez
