Abductors selling proof of life

-

ZAMBOANGA CITY, Philippines – The kidnappers of three Zamboanga Sibugay teachers are now trying to sell proof of life of their captives, even as local officials are firm on not paying anything, including ransom, a police official said.

Senior Superintendent Federico Castro Jr., Zamboanga Sibugay police director, said the local crisis management committee has put a stop to ransom negotiations with the kidnappers, believed to have links with the “lost commands” of the Moro Islamic Liberation Front.

Castro said the committee even offered a P100,000 reward for information on where the kidnappers are keeping teachers Noemi Mandi, Jocelyn Enriquez, and Jocelyn Inion, all of the Bangkaw-Bangkaw Elementary School. – Roel Pareño
