Indian national kidnapped

LUCENA CITY, Philippines – An Indian national was reportedly abducted by unidentified armed men on board an L300 van while traversing the stretch of Isabang going to Diversion, this city proper, yesterday.

Police Superintendent Ronaldo Genaro Ylagan immediately ordered his men to look for the kidnapped Indian after he received a phone call around 8:30 a.m. from a concerned citizen. The victim was identified as Rocky Kumar, 42, married, and residing at Ruanto Compound, Barangay Iyam, Lucena City.

Police investigators said while the victim was driving his red Honda Wave motorcycle (DI 1342) coming from Barangay Isabang going to Diversion Road, a green L300 van overtook and blocked his path. At this juncture, suspects armed with handguns suddenly alighted from their vehicle and forcibly abducted Kumar. The suspects fled with the victim heading towards Bicol.– Michelle Zoleta
