BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya, Philippines – Two towns in this province have been placed under a state of calamity following last week’s onslaught of typhoon “Emong” that left at least P150 million in crop losses and infrastructure damage.

Officials of Solano and neighboring Bagabag town said the typhoon damage on agriculture and infrastructure has been substantial, prompting them to declare a state of calamity.

According to initial reports, Solano and Bagabag, among the five towns hardest-hit by Emong, suffered at least P60 million in crop losses and infrastructure damage. – Charlie Lagasca
