BAGUIO CITY, Philippines– A freak highway mishap, believed to have been engulfed with a paranormal tone, sent 15 vacationers to the hospital after their vehicle got lost in the way and jumped into a ravine here.
Louis Mendoza (driver); Diether Mendoza; Kim Santos, 19; Harvey Mendoza, 20; Dame Mendoza, 20; Darwan Mendoza, 19; Paulo Mendoza, six-month-old; Lucky Santos, 18; Estrelita Santos, 53; Ronny Mendoza, 27; Darrel Mendoza, 14; Love Mendoza; Sherwin Mendoza, 21; Cecilia Mendoza, 31; and Nino Mendoza were all treated for contusions and abrasions when their van dived into a ravine along the Circumferential Road along Suello Village here at around 5:45 Friday afternoon.
The vacationers, all from Makati City, reportedly got lost along Marcos Highway and turned right to Suello Village towards the Circumferential Road before the mishap. Moments later, their van lost its brakes, hit a retaining wall and dived into the ravine. Luckily, workers from a nearby construction site were still around to help rescue the vacationers.
Baguio rescuers wonder how come they turned right to Suello Village, sending shivers, most suspicions, they might have encountered “something” that led them to trek a totally different route. – Artemio Dumlao
