COTABATO CITY, Philippines – Armed men killed two women implicated in large-scale drug trafficking activities in Kabacan, North Cotabato yesterday.
The victims, siblings Undang and Lagah Mangcong, died on the spot from gunshot wounds in their heads.
Chief Inspector Frank Anito, Kabacan police chief, said investigators were convinced that the killing could be related to the Mangcongs’ alleged involvement in drug trafficking in the town and surrounding areas.
Anito said the victims were standing on a busy street in Purok Krislam, apparently waiting for someone, when two motorcycle-riding men pulled over in front of them and opened fire. – John Unson
