Sandiganbayan suspends Rizal mayor anew

MANILA, Philippines - The Sandiganbayan has again ordered the preventive suspension of Rodriguez, Rizal Mayor Pedro Cuerpo after it junked his motion for reconsideration of an October 2008 ruling.

The anti-graft court’s Second Division upheld an earlier resolution by the First Division to suspend Cuerpo while he is being tried for allegedly causing undue injury to 93 families who were prevented from occupying a 8,520-square-meter property in Rodriguez town.     – Michael Punongbayan
