59-year-old man killed by son

LINGAYEN, Pangasinan , Philippines  – A 59-year-old man was killed when he was beaten up by his own son allegedly with mental disorder Saturday night in Barangay Sta. Maria in Umingan town.

Reports reaching the Pangasinan PNP provincial office yesterday identified the fatality as Daryl Sarmiento while the suspect was identified as Darwin Sarmiento,30, both residents of said place.

Investigation showed that the father and son were both under the influence of liquor when a heated argument ensued between them while they were inside their house.

At that juncture, the suspect picked-up a hard cemented object and struck his father on the forehead several times, the report said.

The victim was also hit on his right eyebrow and chin, further report said. – Cesar Ramirez
