Cop disposing of explosive powder hurt

TRECE MARTIRES, Cavite, Philippines – A member of the Philippine National Police Explosives and Ordnance Division was injured yesterday while disposing of 3,000 kilos of explosive powder recovered from the Starmaker firecracker factory here, which was destroyed in a blast that left 11 people dead and 63 others wounded last Jan. 29.

Superintendent Efren De Castro, head of Task Force Starmaker, said PO2 Richard Fermil suffered first-degree burns on his hand and face during the disposal of the explosive powder in Barangay Cabuco here. – Arnell Ozaeta, Cecille Suerte Felipe
