MANILA, Philippines - The Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources has issued a bulletin reiterating its shellfish ban in five areas in the country due to the presence of red tide organisms.
Covered by the ban on the gathering of all types of shellfish and Acetes sp. or alamang are Dumanguillas Bay in Zamboanga del Sur; Juag Lagoon in Matnog and Sorsogon Bay, both in Sorsogon; Bislig Bay in Bislig City, Surigao del Sur; and the coastal waters of Milagros in Masbate. – Sheila Crisostomo
