MMDA traffic enforcer held for extortion

Police arrested a traffic enforcer of the Metro Manila Development Authority for allegedly extorting money from an operator of a shuttle bus in Biñan, Laguna.

Laguna Provincial Police director Senior Superintendent Manolito Labador identified the suspect as Philip Solorio, 41 and resident of South Phase I Blk. 12, Lot 3 of Barangay Sto. Tomas Biñan, Laguna. He is presently assigned at MMDA and a traffic aide II in Muntinlupa City.

Labador said Solorio was arrested on the complaint of an operator of a shuttle bus, whom the suspect demanded money from.

The Laguna police director said elements of Laguna Special Operation Group, Biñan, led by Senior Inspector Vicente Cabatingan conducted operation against Solorio for robbery extortion at Dakuk’s Bar and restaurant in Barangay Canlalay Biñan, where the suspect was arrested.

Police recovered pieces of evidence, including P3,000 marked money used for entrapment and one unit motorcycle of MMDA. Appropriate complaint is being prepared for filing in court.  – Cecille Suerte Felipe
