Recto's aide found dead

Batangas – A 47-year-old security personnel of the Batangas capitol and alleged close-in bodyguard of National Economic Development Authority (NEDA) Secretary Ralph Recto was found dead along the Southern Tagalog Arterial Road (STAR) Tollway in Malvar town Saturday morning, police said.

Senior Superintendent Jesus Gatchalian, Batangas police director identified the victim as Isagani Hernandez, resident of Villa de Lipa, Barangay Sabang, Lipa City.

According to report, Hernandez’s body was found by Star patrol security sprawled along the highway with a bullet wound on his head a few kilometers away from his Mitsubishi Lancer car (PFK-971) at the northbound lane of KM. 70 in Barangay Poblacion around 2:12 a.m.

Probers are gathering informations to determine the last companions of Hernandez before the crime happened and have yet to determine the motive and the persons behind the killing. – Arnell Ozaeta
